Linear Alkylbenzene
KASEL Chemicals
Synonyms: LAB; Benzene, C10-13-alkyl derives; Benzol, C10-13-Alkylderivate (German).

Linear alkylbenzene (LAB) is the most common raw material in the manufacture of biodegradable house hold detergents. LAB is derived exclusively from petroleum derivatives: benzene and linear paraffins. LAB is the primary raw material used in the production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS). linear alkylbenzene sulfonate ( LABS ) is the major basic raw material for the manufacture of detergents / powders & liquids ( industrial cleaners and household detergents ). |

Applications
Linear alkylbenzene (LAB) is used in the production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LABS) ( > 99 %).
Some LAB also find minor use as solovent and binder in speciality applications, for e.g.: cable oil, ink industry, paint, insulating and electricity.
