Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP)

KASEL Chemicals

Synonyms: Sodium triphosphate; Triphosphoric acid, pentasodium salt; Sodium Phosphate Tripoly; STPP; Pentanatriumtriphosphat (German).

STPP sample

Sodium tripolyphosphate is the sodium salt of triphosphoric acid. Is a white odourless powder, produced commercially by reaction of phosphoric acid with sodium carbonate. Sodium tripolyphosphate provides a number of chemical functions to improve the efficiency of cleaning products. This includes the sequestration of hardness ions, buffered alkalinity, deflocculating of dirt particles and anticredeposition of soil. Food-grade qualities are used in many food applications.
